So, its been quite a while since I posted anything at all – my apologies for that, I have been very busy with studies and my camera has been acting up a bit so haven’t really been taking that many shots recently. Anyway, I will try and post as often as I can but please don’t expect me to post everyday.

Okay, anyways, down to business. Below is a shot of one of my gerbils (Scruffy). They are not quite that docile but enjoy posing so I took the oppurtunity and took a few snaps. Enjoy.

For the next couple of days I’m going to be posting images of skies because well… they just awesome, aren’t they? I remember a time when I would just lay on the green grass and stare up in to the skies for hours unend. It was really relaxing and a great source of ideas and inspirations (note to self: should start doing it again).

Anyways, back to the photo – I was looking around for things to photograph, I wanted to do some macro photography but I saw this fantastic view looking out of the window I decided to capture that. I wanted to stich together a panoroma but didn’t really have a tripod handy so just went with this. This is actually a combination of several photographs taken at different exposure levels and shutter speeds. Enjoy.

Skies, part 1

The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see Nature all ridicule and deformity, and some scarce see Nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, Nature is Imagination itself.

William Blake, 1799, The Letters

A follow up to my previous pic of the “fruit of life”. Just flooded the scene with light and used a highish exposure. Taken in RAW format with no post-processing, Enjoy.

Again a very studio type shot I took in my make-shift studio. I can’t really explain it but to say it’s a fruit from a tree (I don’t actually know what fruit or which tree it comes from). The photograph was taken in RAW format with no post-processing. Enjoy.

My camera is back to working again so I can keep taking photograpes :) . So what was I to do but start experimenting again, I did consider going outside but it was raining pretty bad and I wasn’t yet ready to expose my camera to water again. So I set up a make-shift studio in the kitchen (the lighting is the best there!). So for the next few days I’m gonna post some shots I took there – starting with the shot below. I’ll post the shot up in two bits: the before and the after.

I will also post a tutorial about how to achieve such results before Friday. Anyways that’s enough of me talking so here are some pics. Enjoy.

Notes: The images was taken in RAW format and then edited and polished in photoshop.

I took this photo of the showerhead lying in the water using my make-shift underwater housing. Two reflectors were used to direct the light from a torch. This was supposed to be a test shot but something went wrong somewhere and now my camera has, I think, water inside it. But I’ve left it to dry for now and we’ll see if works.

If not, then I will not be posting anymore photographs until I can the camera. In that case however I start posting some tutorials. Anyways enjoy.

I’ve been messing around with RAW files lately. When you take a picture in RAW it gives you more control as you are able to change the exposure level, tempreture and other setting when editing without comprimsing the photo quality. I took this outside a Burger King on the way back from a road trip to Wales. Almost no editing just messed around with the tempreture and shadows. Enjoy.

So this is a shot of my brother eye as he was staring headfuly at the computer screen. Enjoy.

Yesterday I posted an image that I edited to look more like a lomographic image. I had another go at it today and I’ve posted the results below. I cropped and edited (not including the editing required to give it a “lomo” look) the image but nothig major. Again, I don’t really see the point of posting the photograph details as they are irrelevant after all the editing. Anyways, let me know what you think.

An experiment in Lomo

P.s. The photograph was taken in Staford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare’s city :) )

First of all let me say the title of the post might be a bit misleading, this isn’t really a true lomographic image but one that I created through editing in photoshop. If you don’t know what lomography is then check out the Lomographic society for info. Anyways I took this image in Statford-upon-avon but wasn’t exactly much decided to experiment with it.

If you want to have a go then there is a excellent tutorial posted on the Digital Photography School, check it out. Anyway I’m not going to post the photograph details as I don’t think they matter with this image. Enjoy.
